The about me post..

Hello there,

I am Sune, a 23 years old male exchange student coming all the from the city of Aalborg, Denmark.
I grew up in a small house next to a farm far away from anything and spent the most of my childhood and teenage years in this world of my own, safe from the big world outside my door.

Living in a globalized world gives us a lot of choices we must take into consideration each day. Most of them are easy, some of them can be extremely difficult. For me, going to Australia was one of the easiest, yet hardest decisions in my life. I was given the opportunity to finally experience how big the world really is, but with the cost of getting out of my safe zone back home.

You can say I finally took the red pill and I am now keen to experience how deep the rabbit-hole goes...

By now you should have experienced a few references to "The Matrix" (1999). Besides symbolisms with the blue/red pill and the rabbit hole, I believe the movie is useful when discussing the effects of globalization. A lot of people are starting to live in their 'dream worlds' and forgetting about the world we know as 'the real world'. It makes me wonder, what is the price of living your whole life in a dream world? Is the real world really worth living in, if your life can be just as good, or even better, in the dream world?

This, and much more is hopefully something I will discuss and reflect on during my blogposts the following weeks.
